Green River swimming hole closed due to elevated E-coli count
GREAT BARRINGTON -- Following routine tests, the town's Board of Health has closed the Green River swimming area on Route 23 due to an elevated E-coli bacteria count.
The area has been posted.
Health officials believe the elevated counts could be due to recent heavy rains. The swimming area will be closed until further notice. For additional questions, contact health agent Mark Pruhenski at 413-528-0680 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
