Greylock's Travis Hilchey eighth at All-States wrestling

Posted

Berkshire County's high school wrestling season came to an end Saturday at the MIAA All-State meet in Lowell.

Mount Greylock 132-pounder Travis Hilchey lost both of his matches in the consolation bracket, finishing eighth in his class. Hilchey was the only Berkshire County wrestler still alive in the brackets on the second day of the meet.

Hilchey, who took third place in the Division III state tournament, lost 5-0 to Hampshire's Brendan Weir in his first match Saturday. That match was a rematch of the Western Mass. Division III final at 132.

In the seventh-place match, Hilchey lost 8-4 to Triton's Jake Durkin in a rematch of the D-III state third-place match, won by Hilchey, last week.
