Gunman robs Pittsfield Dunkin' Donuts

Story update: Alleged Dunkin Donuts robber arraigned, held without bail

PITTSFIELD -- A masked gunman held up the Dunkin' Donuts on Dalton Avenue, according to Pittsfield city police.

Shortly after 9:30 p.m., a man walked into the eatery, displayed a handgun and demanded money from an employee, getting away with an unknown amount of cash, police said.

No one was hurt during the armed robbery.

Police, assisted by the city's canine unit, immediately began to scour the area looking for the robber.

Eyewitnesses told investigators the thief wore a blue handkerchief over his face and was dressed in a dark hoodie and dark pants.
