Hancock: Nomination papers now available

Nomination papers for the May 13 annual town election are now available at the town clerk’s office.

Nomination papers must be filed by 5 p.m. on Monday, March 18.

Offices appearing on the election ballot are as follows:

Moderator, one one-year term; Assessor, one three-year term; Board of Health, two three-year terms; Selectmen, one three-year term; Cemetery Commission, one three-year term and one one-year term; Constable, one three-year term; Finance Committee, one three-year term; Library Trustee, one three-year term; Planning Board, one three-year term; School Committee, two three-year terms; Tax Collector, one three-year term; Town Clerk, one three-year term; and Treasurer, one three-year term.

The annual town election will take place from noon to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 13, at Hancock Elementary School. The deadline to register is April 23. The town clerk’s office will be open from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 on that day.

The annual town meeting will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 6, at Hancock Elementary School.

Dog licenses for 2013 are available in the town clerk’s office. Cost is $4 for spayed/neutered and $10 if not. Owners must provide proof of rabies vaccine and spaying/neutering if required at this time before the license will be issued. Licenses can be requested by mail with the proper proof and fee.

Any residents who have not returned their 2013 annual street listing should do so at this time. Those who did not receive one should contact Town Clerk Linda Burdick at (413) 738-5225.
