Hancock: Wounded Warriors to ski at Jiminy

Posted

Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort will host the 11th annual Wounded Warrior Snowfest on Saturday and Sunday, March 5 and 6.

Fifteen Wounded Warriors, who have returned from Iraq and Afghanistan having sustained permanent injuries, will spend a weekend with Stride Adaptive Sports instructors learning how to ski and snowboard as they put their lives back together through sports.

The majority of the participants are from New York State with several from Fort Drum, N.Y., home of the 10th Mountain Division.

The weekend at Jiminy follows a welcome ceremony and cocktail reception on Friday at the Hilton Garden Inn in Troy, N.Y.
