High school golf roundup: Mount Greylock picks up victory over Drury

STAMFORD, VT., — Mount Greylock's Kyle Alvarez led the Mounties (6-3, 6-3) to a 161-189 win over Drury at the Stamford Valley Golf Course on Tuesday.

Alvarez shot a one over-37, earning medalist honors for the round. Ben Gilooly and Hunter Sarkis shot 41's. Jude Collins led Drury with a 45. The Blue Devils fall to 2-9 overall.

"We have a young team," Drury coach Don Dagnoli said. "We're just trying to get better. We have short game issues to work on. Just trying to get better as we get more experience."

LENOX >> Lenox recorded a home win over Monument Mountain at Cranwell Spa and Golf Resort Tuesday.

Lenox (4-3, 4-3 Berkshire South) duo Matt Shields and Noah Hunter tied for the medalist honor, with both shooting a 43 on the par-35 front 9.

"Good win for us today because it was a league match," Lenox coach Dick Salinetti said. "Again, we showed good balance and improvement. Everybody under 50 and it seems we are heading in the right direction, at least in our league."

Monument's Lexi Shumsky and Dylan Tucker each shot a 48 in the loss. The Spartans fall to 3-5, 3-5 with the loss.

"The score was a little higher than we wanted at home, but not bad," Pittsfield coach Chris Polidoro said. "We're playing pretty good right now."

Luc Trombley led Hoosac (5-4, 5-4) with a 45.

"We played good, we had everyone in the 40s while [Fraser had] a 39," Lee coach Matt Carlino said. "The kids are all improving. Sean McLaughlin has really improved this year and is starting to get into the low 40s, which is big. It was consistent all around for us."

For St. Joe (1-10, 1-10), Michael Gingras shot a 46.
