High school roundup: Drury baseball outlasts Wahconah for 2-0 start

NORTH ADAMS >> Brian Dubie pitched a complete game two-hitter for Drury in its 3-1 win over Wahconah.

Dubie struck out two and walked two with Kody Crosier behind the plate for him.

"Kody Crosier has done a heck of a job behind the plate as a senior catcher," Drury coach Pat Boulger said. "He's the heartbeat of our team. Handling two games now, we're 2-0, and he's handled two sophomore pitchers. Between him and [Matt] Schneider for Wahconah, it was a pleasure watching two great catchers today."

Logan Rumbolt tripled for the Blue Devils (2-0) while Will Genaway doubled for the Warriors (1-1).

GREAT BARRINGTON >> Patrick Colvin pitched a complete game and Joe Bouvier contributed a bases-clearing double in the third inning, sending the Millionaires to victory over Monument Mountain.

John Fontaine added a triple for the Millionaires as they improved to 3-0.

For the Spartans (0-2), Ben Wyatt and Joe Aberdale each doubled while Graham Herrick and Branden Perry each had two hits.

"We just have to play better," Monument coach Tom Hankey said. "We had nine walks today, which kind of hurt us. Lenox had some timely hitting, so give them credit."

DALTON >> Allie Borowsky threw a no-hitter for Wahconah in its five-inning victory over Hoosac Valley.

Borowsky struck out nine and walked one for the Warriors (1-1). Ashley Zink contributed three hits, including a triple.

"I'm really happy with the way we responded," Wahconah coach Dustin Belcher said after his squad lost to Mount Everett in its opener. "We got five runs in the first and then Allie, she was in the zone today. She did a great job spotting her pitches. It was a great team effort, a great response by the team."

Kali Puppolo struck out seven and walked one for Hoosac (0-1).

GREAT BARRINGTON >> Morgan DeGrenier went 4 for 5 as Mount Everett defeated Monument Mountain.

Chandler DeGrenier was the winning pitcher for the Eagles (3-0 overall, 2-0 Berkshire South), striking out seven and walking one while allowing six hits. Marion Devoti was 4 for 5 with a triple for Mount Everett. Gwendolyn Carpenter finished 3 for 5.

For Monument Mountain (0-2, 0-1), Alexa Troiano went 2 for 3 while Amanda Morse and Addie McFarland both tripled.

Boys Lacrosse

PITTSFIELD 11, HOOSAC VALLEY 5

PITTSFIELD >> Ryan Jacoby led Pittsfield to a win over Hoosac Valley. Jacoby and the entire Pittsfield offense did a great job of moving the ball against the Hurricanes. Seven Generals scored and seven of the 11 total goals were assisted on. After playing to a scoreless first period, Pittsfield put together a 6-1 second period to seal the win. Tyler Jayko led Hoosac with three goals. Nikolai Pixley made 10 saves for Pittsfield.
