Hubbard Hall slates auditions for touring "Othello"


CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. >> Hubbard Hall Center for the Arts and Education is holding open auditions, noon to 4 Sunday, for its summer touring production of William Shakespeare's "Othello."

Auditions will be in Hubbard Hall's Freight Depot Theater.

The production will rehearse weeknights and Saturdays, June 14-July 6, and perform 7 p.m., July 7-17, at various sites throughout the community.

Actors should prepare one Shakespearean monologue no longer than 2 minutes. Sides from the show will be provided and actors will be paired with scene partners at the audition.

Familiarity with the script is highly recommended. Those interested should arrive at noon and be prepared to stay until 4 (you must arrive by noon if you are interested in playing Iago or Desdemona).

Bring a headshot and resume if available.

If you are unable to attend Sunday's auditions or are unable to be there for the whole time, contact director Erin Ouellette via email at to schedule an alternate audition time.

Anyone who has a strong desire to perform is invited to audition, irrespective of experience, gender, ethnicity or age.

People interested in working behind the scenes in a technical capacity are also urged to inquire.
