UPTON >> An investigation is under way following the discovery of human skeletal remains in the woods of Upton.

Police say the remains were found by a hunter on Saturday afternoon.

The case is being investigated as an unattended death and no cause of death is currently known.

The Worcester district attorney's office and the medical examiner are leading the investigation.
