Huntington: North Hall Festival hosts opera showcase

The North Hall Association opens its seventh annual arts festival at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 28, with a concert of opera and song on the historic North Hall stage, 40 Searle Road off Route 66. A second performance will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 29.

Sopranos Angela Leson and Tammy Tyburczy join tenor Antonio Abate and baritone Christopher DeVage, accompanied by pianist Jerome Tan. The quartet will perform songs, arias and opera scenes by French composers.

Admission to both performances is $15 at the door for general seating; all students free.

A meet-the-artists reception with refreshments will be held at intermission in the hall's art gallery.

The gallery will be exhibiting the oil and watercolor paintings of Ruth La Prise and Susan Racine from May 28 to July 9.

The hall is wheelchair-accessible and air-conditioned.
