Pittsfield: Chamber accepts nominations

The Berkshire Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for the 2012 Esther Quinn Award, which will be presented at the chamber’s annual meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 12. Nomination forms must be returned to the chamber no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5.

Now in its 12th year, the award is named after Esther Quinn, a realtor, chamber volunteer and advocate for volunteer efforts, who died suddenly in 1998.

The successful candidate for this award is any person who is a member of the Berkshire community that has been involved in several volunteer efforts, is a people person, and has made the Berkshires a better place to live and work through their enthusiasm, empathy and effort. Lenox: Wedding photography workshop

Cranwell Resort, Spa and Golf Club will host wedding photographer Susan Stripling’s fall 2012 workshop, which normally takes place in Miami, on Nov. 7 and 8.

Photographers from around the country are expected to attend the two-day seminar to discuss wedding photography styles, business and marketing. Attendance is limited to 20 attendees.

Stripling, recently chosen by American Photo Magazine as one of the Top Ten Wedding Photographers of 2012, was invited to the Berkshires by local wedding photographer Tricia McCormack.

Pittsfield: Young Professionals seek members

The Berkshire Young Professionals are seeking new members to join the BYP Steering Committee and serve three-year terms that begin in January 2013.

Applications are currently available online at www.berkshire, or by visiting the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce’s office at 66 Allen St. The deadline to submit applications is 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16. Notification of selection will be made by Friday, Dec. 14.

The BYP’s Steering Committee is responsible for the development and execution of a variety of networking, professional development, volunteer and community service initiatives.
