North Adams: Fall Foliage fundraiser underway
The Fall Foliage Parade Committee is holding "restaurant week" at several Northern Berkshire restaurants to raise private sector funding for this year’s event, which takes place on Sunday, Oct. 5.
Restaurant week began Friday, and will run through Saturday, Aug. 23.
The committee has set a fundraising goal of $40,000. A large portion of the parade funds are raised through corporate sponsorships and city grants, but the committee is hoping to raise $10,000 from the private sector.
The six participating restaurants in Adams, North Adams and Williamstown will donate 10 percent of each diner’s check to the Fall Foliage Parade during this eight-day period at the patron’s request. To participate, diners need to mention parade day to their server.
The participating restaurants include BountiFare Restaurant in Adams; Desperados Mexican Restauarant, Freight Yard Pub, The Hub and Supreme Pizza in North Adams; and Waubeeka Pub & Grill in Williamstown. More restaurants will be added. The list is available at fallfoliageparade.com.
