GFCU president named Woman of FIRE

Greylock Federal Credit Union President Marilyn L. Sperling is one of 14 women from Massachusetts who have been selected as a recipient
of the fourth annual Women of FIRE awards that are given by Banker & Tradesman Magazine in Boston.

The Women of FIRE awards recognize the key female players in the local Finance, Insurance and Real Estate (FIRE) sector.

Sperling will be honored at an awards luncheon on Thursday at the Sheraton Commander in Cambridge. State Auditor Suzanne M. Bump, a Great Barrington resident, is the keynote speaker.

Banker & Tradesman will profile each of this year's winners in a special section in its Monday issue.


Hillcrest Educational Centers names director

Michael Supranowicz has been named director of business development at Hillcrest Educational Centers, the nonprofit has announced.

He joined Hillcrest after serving as president and CEO of the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce since October 2005.

Supranowicz worked closely with Hillcrest during his
tenure at the chamber.

Supranowicz has been a member of Berkshire Community College's Board of Trustees since 2001; he was selected to participate in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Center for Workforce Preparation's Workforce Development Leadership program in Washington, D.C.

He also co-chaired the Berkshire Wireless Learning Initiative, and is a member of the Early Education for All's Campaign Advisory Committee.


Berkshire Bank opens two new branch offices

Berkshire Bank has established offices for two of its subsidiary organizations, Berkshire Wealth Management and Berkshire Insurance Group, at its new Dalton branch on 488 Main St. The branch also features walk-up and drive-up ATM machines.

The bank celebrated the opening of the Dalton branch with a customer appreciation week, called Random Acts of Excitement, from June 9-13.


Berkshire Hypnosis relocates facility

Berkshire Hypnosis has moved to the Berkshire Healing Arts building on Summer Street.

Berkshire Healing Arts is a community of independent health and healing practitioners (osteopathic primary care physicians, acupuncturists, psychotherapists, massage therapists, and nutritional experts) with a common orientation toward health, healing and wellness.

Founded in 2007, Berkshire Hypnosis focuses on the therapy aspects that a deep meditative state provides.
