Pittsfield: Blackout Revolution to open

The Blackout Revolution, a personal fitness training business, is holding its grand opening at 6:15 p.m. Thursday in Suite 8 of 1450 East St. Certified fitness trainers Freedom Brown and Michael Summers offer calisthenics classes and personal training sessions.

Pittsfield: Sabic wins energy efficiency award

Sabic Innovative Plastics' Pittsfield site has received an energy efficiency award from the American Chemistry Council as part of the ACC's Responsible Care program for a project aimed at reducing carbon dioxide emissions and energy usage. The company has received a total of five ACC Responsible Care Energy Efficiency Awards for its efforts to improve manufacturing processes and to manage resources more efficiently. Sabic sites in Illinois, Indiana and Mississippi have also received the honor. Sabic is one of the 25 companies that received the Responsible Care Award in 2013.

Adams: Community Bank offers USDA loans

The Adams Community Bank is now offering USDA loans, according to President and CEO Charles P. O'Brien.
Once known as "farmer's loans," USDA loans assist low- to moderate-income rural homebuyers achieve their goal of homeownership. Applicants must purchase a home within the eligible rural areas and have a household income that doesn't exceed the established limits where the home is located. Eligible property types include existing homes, new construction, modular homes, eligible condominiums, new manufactured homes and planned unit developments.
