Lenox: Shepard recognized by ACHCA

Sandra Shepard, the executive director of Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center, has received the 2013 Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award given by the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA).

The award was celebrated during the awards luncheon at the ACHCA’s 48th annual Convocation and Exposition in Las Vegas.

Shepard was one of 234 receipts who received the Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award with virtual recognition. Based on the premise that facility excellence is a reflection of leadership excellence, this award recognizes the administrator who provided that leadership throughout the award year.

Pittsfield: Distinguished Citizen Award to Sacco

Retired Judge Rudolph Sacco of Pittsfield has been named the 2014 recipient of the Lawrence Strattner Jr. Distinguished Citizen Award, which is presented annually by the Western Massachusetts Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Sacco will receive the award on Thursday, June 5 at the Country Club of Pittsfield, 639 South St. The ceremony takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. The award will be presented by retired New England Newspapers Inc. President and Publisher Andrew Mick.

All proceeds from this event directly benefit more than 850 young men and women served through scouting’s programs here in greater Berkshire County.

Sacco served 25 years as a judge of the Massachusetts Probate and Family Court. Prior to joining the bench, he served as Assistant Attorney General and as Commissioner of the Department of Public Utilities.

Pittsfield: ‘Stress-Free Living’ presentation

Maureen Daniels of Berkshire Health Systems will present "Stress-Free Living For a Better Mind, Body, and Spirit" when Berkshire Business and Professional Women meet on Monday, June 2, at Mazzeo’s Ristorante.

The Board of Governors for 2014-15 will also be installed.

Networking will take place from 5:30 to 6 p.m., followed by dinner and the speaking program.

The registration deadline is Wednesday, May 28.
