Pittsfield: RHA offers financial workshops

The Berkshire County Regional Housing Authority is offering a series of four Economic Literacy/Financial Literacy workshops that begin Thursday. All sessions will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. at the BCRHA offices on the fourth floor of 1 Fenn St. The three other sessions will be held on May 15, May 22, and May 29. The workshops are free and open to the public.

The Economic Literacy seminars will focus on family economics, spending and savings strategies, improving credit ratings and bolstering budgeting skills, smart shopping and avoiding the pitfalls of harmful financial products. The course is geared for those who are worried or concerned about maintaining or improving their current economic condition. It is designed especially for those facing tenancy or mortgage issues either currently or in the future. Those in attendance are eligible for economic incentives for completing the course and for coming to each session.

Pittsfield: Career Center sets workshops

The BerkshireWorks Career Center has a variety of workshops, classes and events scheduled for this week.

Williamstown: Willinet upgrades video equipment

Willinet, Community TV for Williamstown, has upgraded the Mac side of its video-editing capabilities with a new iMac desktop. The new computer is equipped with hardware and software capable of taking any footage from cellphone video to consumer camcorders to professional HD video and turning it into a finished product. Willinet is holding free video editing training customized to all skill levels and ages. Individual or group training can be scheduled by calling WilliNet at (413) 458-0900.
