Great Barrington: Community center receives $5,000 gift

Berkshire South Regional Community Center has received a $5,000 donation from the TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank.

The donation will assist funding the BSRCC's Access to Early Education Program.

Early Education at BSRCC is provided through Sunshine Preschool, which has been in operation at since 2002. Sunshine Preschool offers a full-day, state-licensed early education program for children ages 2 years 9 months to kindergarten-ready.

As part of Berkshire South's commitment to providing "access for all" to programs and services, up to 50 percent in tuition assistance is offered to those families with a demonstrated financial need. Funds received from the TD Charitable Foundation grant will aid in ensuring access to early education in Sunshine Preschool.

Pittsfield: Young Professionals to hold monthly social

The Berkshire Young Professionals will hold a networking social on Thursday at M. Edward Jewelers, 660 Merrill Road. Networking takes place from 5 to 7 p.m.

This month's featured nonprofit, Berkshire County Kids Place and Violence Prevention Center, Inc. will be in attendance to discuss their role in the community and potential volunteer opportunities.

Lenox Dale: Montessori School  to hold open house

The Montessori School of the Berkshires will hold a WinterFest Open House on Saturday, Jan. 25. The hours are 9 a.m. to noon.

The school is open to students from the age of 15 months to eighth grade.

Springfield: OSHA-10 Construction class being offered

Western Mass. COSH will hold an OSHA-10 Construction class on Monday, Jan. 20, and Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 640 Page Boulevard in Springfield.

The hours are 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuition is $100.
