Pittsfield: BYP to hold social with the Suns
The Berkshire Young Professionals will hold a networking social with the Pittsfield Suns at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 11 at Wahconah Park.
Young professionals who either live or work in Berkshire County are invited to attend. Rain or shine, attendees will meet the team and enjoy complimentary hors d'oeuvres and networking.
BYP cardholders will also receive free admission to the Suns' game with the Torrington Titans, which follows the social. Non-cardholders will receive a discount admission of $3.
Pittsfield: Bank grant aids United Cerebral Palsy
The Berkshire Bank Foundation has awarded a $10,000 grant to United Cerebral Palsy of Berkshire County so the organization can renovate its newly purchased property at 535 Curran Highway in North Adams.
The new property will help meet UCP's growing demand for services in Northern Berkshire County, while continuing to provide a continuum of care for individuals with developmental and physical disabilities.
The renovations will bring the North Adams building into compliance with current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations, fix some structural deficiencies, and allow UCP to expand its services and programming in the needs of individuals with developmental and physical disabilities in Northern Berkshire County.
Springfield: Home Builders Assoc. offers course
The Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Western Massachusetts will sponsor a six-session course beginning Wednesday, July 17 to help individuals prepare for the Massachusetts Construction Supervisor's Licensing Exam.
The sessions will be held at the group's headquarters at 240 Cadwell Drive in Springfield. They will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on six consecutive Wednesdays through Aug. 21. Pizza and soda will be provided for all attendees.
The license exam is authorized by the state Board of Building Regulations and Standards, and will be administered by Thomson Prometric. Registration forms to enroll for the state exam will be distributed at the first session.
