Pittsfield: Berkshire Bank team eyes expansion

Berkshire Bank has hired an experienced commercial team to expand its commercial banking business in eastern Massachusetts. The team will service middle-market commercial and industrial businesses, and will be based at Berkshire’s commercial lending office in Woburn.

Brant A. McDougall will serve as senior vice president and commercial team leader. Christopher P. DeFronzo, John M. Malvey, and Joanne R. Tercho will serve as vice presidents and commercial relationship managers. Carol Hamilton will serve as senior vice president, commercial relationship manager.

Between them, the new bank employees have approximately 100 years of experience in providing commercial banking solutions to businesses in eastern Massachusetts.

In their new roles at Berkshire, McDougall and Hamilton will report to Paul F. Flynn Jr., senior vice president, asset based lending manager.

Pittsfield: Greylock plans financial aid webinar

The Greylock Federal Credit Union will hold a free informational webinar, "Sending Your Child to College for Pennies on the Dollar, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 5.

The webinar will be led by a college admissions and financial aid expert from Greylock’s partner, Collegiate Funding Solutions (CFS). CFS provides Greylock’s members with a college planning tool to help them save for college and learn financial strategies to cut costs.

Parents of college-bound high school seniors, juniors or sophomores will learn:

How to get big discounts from high-priced colleges; why expensive private schools can cost the same or less than state universities; and how to avoid making the 10 biggest mistakes that most parents make that cost them tens of thousands of dollars in lost financial aid.

Lanesborough: Mall to host annual Home Expo

The Berkshire Chamber of Commerce will hold the 2013 Berkshire Home Expo March 8-10 at the Berkshire Mall.

The hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. March 8 and March 9; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on March 10. Admission is free.

The cost to exhibit is $399 for Chamber members, and $699 for non-members. Booth space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Info: Christine Hoyt, (413) 499-4000, ext. 126.
