Miss Hall’s names
marketing director

Lisa Lewis has joined Miss Hall’s School as director of marketing, the school has announced.

Lewis will oversee a comprehensive marketing communications program that includes new media strategies, public relations and advertising.

Previously the Pittsfield resident served as the director of communications for the Austen Riggs Center in Stockbridge and, before that, as director of marketing for the Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield.

Lewis has also held marketing and public relations positions in both San Francisco and the Boston area.

Literacy Volunteers
plan golf classic

Literacy Volunteers of Berkshire County Inc., in collaboration with the Berkshire Athenaeum, will host the second annual "Links for Literacy," the Berkshire Gas Miniature Golf Classic, on Saturday, Feb. 23.

An 18-hole golf course will be set up inside the Berkshire Athenaeum.

This is the second year that Berkshire Gas has agreed to be the lead sponsor of this event.

Big Y campaign aids breast cancer group

Big Y Foods raised $194,000 through its "Partners of Hope" initiative in October for 17 local breast cancer groups throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts, which includes the Woman’s Imaging Center at Berkshire Medical Center.

Other Massachusetts facilities that received funds from Big Y are located in Boston, Springfield and Worcester.

Springfield college
offers design course

Springfield Technical College is offering programs for an interior design certificate, certified nurses aide (CNA), and a medical and community interpreting certificate during the spring semester.

Classes in the medical and community certificate program begin on Monday, while classes for the CNA program begin on Tuesday. The interior design program begins Feb. 5.
