Legion plans sessions
on veterans benefits
National and state teams from the American Legion will hold sessions to discuss veterans benefits and service to the community for all military veterans in the four counties of Western Massachusetts on Nov. 29, Nov. 30, and Dec. 1.
The events will take place at American Legion Post 172 in Orange at 40 Daniel Shays Highway.
Officers and staff members of the Indianapolis-based American Legion National Headquarters and Boston-based state headquarters along with local post members will be in town to kick off this campaign.
Membership and veteran information staff will be available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 29 and Nov. 30 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 1.
A state American Legion service officer will also be available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 29 and Nov. 30 for all area veterans with claims or other veteran-related questions. Information: firstname.lastname@example.org; legion.org.

The Northern Berkshire Community Coalition will hold a server-training session on Wednesday at the Williams Inn.
The hours are 5 to 9 p.m. All establishments in North County that serve liquor for on-premises consumption (restaurants, bars, and clubs) are eligible to participate. Registration is guaranteed on a first-come, first-served basis.
The session can accommodate 35 participants. The cost will be shared between the attendees and nb21 (not before 21 organization in Northern Berkshire).

NPR seeks nominees
for annual award
New England Public Radio is seeking nominations for its 2013 Arts and Humanities awards. Established in 2008, the award seeks to recognize those who have made a positive impact on the arts and humanities.
It is given in three categories: outstanding organization; outstanding individual; and emerging talent. Members of the New England Public Radio Foundation will select a recipient in each category in January.
