Lee: MacCaro associate is promoted to VP

Lisa Thomson-Kelley has been promoted to vice president of MacCaro Real Estate, the company has announced.

As vice president, Kelley will be responsible for sales, customer service and operations. She joined MacCaro in 2000 as a sales associate.

Founded in 1987, MacCaro is a full service residential and commercial real estate firm that also owns and manages net leased facilities.

Pittsfield: ‘Ladies Night Out’ fundraiser is set

Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. will host "It’s All About You -- Ladies Night Out", a fundraising event on Wednesday, May 30 at the Crowne Plaza. All proceeds from the event will benefit Downtown Pittsfield, Inc.’s programs and activities.

The event, which will run from 5:30 to 9 p.m., will feature the latest in beauty and spa treatments, trends in hair color and style, and education on wellness, nutrition and a balanced lifestyle. More than 100 health and beauty experts will be in attendance. Presenters will speak on the latest trends in beauty, health, wellness and lifestyles.

Tickets are $25 in advance, and $30 at the door. The first 250 ticket purchasers will receive a "green" recycled shopping bag filled with products and sample items from various service provider and vendors.

Lee: Home care agency earns reaccreditation

Berkshire Home Care, a private-pay home care agency, has earned reaccreditation from the Home Care Alliance of Massachusetts.

The alliance, which represents 190 home health and elder care agencies across the state, created an accreditation protocol to promote quality services, ethical business standards and superior employment practices. in an industry that lacks meaningful licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts,

The Home Care Alliance launched this accreditation program for private pay agencies (agencies that are not paid by Medicare or Medicaid), in July 2010. Since that time, over 60 agencies have submitted documentation to show that they meet the standards established by the Alliance.
