Herberg to host
annual open house
The annual open house for fifth grade students and their parents will be held in the Herberg auditorium from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
This will be an opportunity to meet with Herberg’s ad ministrative and support staff, and to receive an initial introduction to middle school curriculum and academic expectations. Each family will receive a copy of Herberg’s Program of Studies. Everyone will be given a building tour by Herberg students at the end of the program.
Berkshire Idol finals
slated for tonight
The 2012 Berkshire Idol finals will be held at 6:30 tonight at Barrington Stage Company, 30 Union St.
This year’s finals will feature live audience voting following each contestant’s performance.
All 2012 proceeds will benefit the Family Life Support Center, which operates the Louison House Homeless Shelter under the umbrella of the Northern Berkshire United Way.
Tickets are $18 for adults, $13 for students, $15 for seniors and groups of six or more, children 6 and younger will get in free.
Reservations are recommended. Student, senior and group discount tickets may be reserved by calling (413) 236-8888; general admission tickets may be reserved by phone or at www.barringtonstageco.org/tickets.
All tickets will be available at the door on the day of the performance.

Hinsdale Grange No. 19 is re scheduling its monthly meeting from Monday, May 14, to Monday, May 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the Hins dale Town Hall, 39 South St.
The state inspector will be present to audit books and the meeting. All are asked to wear pink, the color of the month. The program will focus on deaf awareness.
Library to present
talk on publishing
The Stockbridge Library board of trustees invites the public to the association’s annual meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday with local author, literary agent and Internet marketing specialist Deborah Herman.
Herman will compare the benefits of self-publishing versus traditional publishing, and discuss how to be successful at both.

to benefit NARH
The Williamstown MayFest, an outdoor music festival, will be held from noon to 8 p.m. today at Weston Field, Wil liams College.
The festival is sponsored by the Williamstown Chamber of Commerce. All net proceeds will benefit North Adams Regional Hospital.
Local favorites Jungle Work, The Rock Hounds, Rebel Al liance, and CJ Field will perform. Perfor mances will run from 1 to 7 p.m.
Food will be available on site. Beer will be available from Berkshire Brewing Co. and Girardi Liquors.
The event will be held rain or shine. Tickets can be purchased at the gate.
