Candidates to speak at IUE meeting
The IUE Local 254/255 Retirees membership meeting will be held Tuesday at Kennedy Hall, 789 Tyler St. The meeting starts at 10 a.m. Coffee and doughnuts are served at 9:30 a.m.
The guest speakers will be Middle Berkshire Register of Deeds candidates Patsy Harris, Jody Phillips and Scott Pignatelli.
Those attending are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for area food pantries.
Free summer meals offered for kids
Pittsfield Schools Food Service will be providing free meals for children ages 18 and under beginning today through Friday, Aug. 24. Adult meals cost $3.
Conte Community School on West Union Street and Morningside Community School on Burbank Street will serve breakfast from 8:30 to 9 a.m. and lunch from noon to 12:30 p.m.
Lunch will also be served from noon to 12:30 p.m. at Dower Square, 253 Wah conah St., and from noon to 1 p.m. at First United Meth odist Church, 55 Fenn St.
Fundraiser to benefit Free Legal Clinic
A Wine and Cheese Gar den Cocktail Party fund raiser to benefit the Free Legal Clinic will be held Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at 320 State Road.
The Free Legal Clinic is a nonprofit organization that works to connect local professionals with Berkshire County residents who are experiencing very real barriers to accessing the civil legal counsel they need and deserve.

Magician kicks off reading program
The Lee Library Ass ociation will kick off its 2012 Summer Reading Program, "Dream Big -- Read!" with a magic show and balloon sculpting today at the library, 100 Main St.
Professional magician Ed Popielarczyk will create spellbinding feats of magic while getting everyone in the audience involved.
The magic show will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. followed by the balloon sculpting workshop from 3:30 to 4 p.m. The workshop is limited to 25 children ages 8 and up.

‘80s dance party to benefit Images
Images Cinema will present an ‘80s Dance Party fundraiser on Saturday, June 30, starting at 7 p.m.
Disc jockey Eric Kerns will be spinning ‘80s dance tunes. Food will be provided by Mezze Catering. The event will celebrate the decade.
Style prizes will be given for Best Hair, Best John Hughes film character, Best John Hughes film couple, and Best Overall ‘80s Look.
Wine, beer, Fuzzy Navels, Pop Rocks and Atari are included. A photo-op will recreate "The Breakfast Club" poster.
Tickets are $65, food and drinks included, and can be purchased online at www.imagescinema.org, by calling (413) 458-1039. Location of the party will be given upon ticket purchase. Purchase tickets by Tuesday.
