BHS registering for July CPR class

The Berkshire Health Sys tems Education Department is offering Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation classes to the community on a monthly basis throughout the year.

The next class is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, July 20, at the Hillcrest Campus of Ber kshire Medical Center in the education department classrooms.

Driving safety class offered by AARP

The American Association of Retired Persons Found ation will host a driving safety class from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, July 13, at Epoch Senior Living, 140 Mel bourne Road.

Drivers ages 50 and older will be taught by a trained volunteer how to improve their driving behaviors.

The cost is $12 for AARP members; $14 for nonmembers. Space is limited. To register: (413) 499-1992.

N. Berk. Retirees Club to meet Thursday

North Adams:

4-H program to hold mini-golf tournament

The Berkshire County 4-H program will hold a mini-golf tournament from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at The Range on Curran Highway.

The cost is $10 per person, and teams will be made up of two people. To participate, pick up an entry form at The Range or call the Berkshire 4-H Office at (413) 448-8285.

There will be prizes, a petting zoo and a Chinese auction.

North Adams:

Farmers market coupons for seniors

The Northern Berkshire Com munity Coalition will offer farmers market cou pons for eligible seniors for one day only on a first-come, first-serve basis.

In North Adams, coupon books can be picked up at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Spitzer Center, 116 Ashland St., and used at the farmers market on that day only.

Transportation to the market is available if needed for $3; call (413) 662-3125.

In Adams, coupon books can be picked up at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, at the Adams Council on Ag ing, 20 East St., and used on that day only.

NRM lecture series inspired by exhibit

In celebration of its new exhibition, "Howard Pyle: American Master Rediscov ered," the Norman Rockwell Museum will present "Bur ied Treasures: Pers pectives on Pyle," a summer lecture and performance series to be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays in July and August.

This Thursday, meet Nath aniel Hawthorne as portrayed by Rob Vellella. Hawthorne's "Tangle wood Tales" (1853) were penned in a small Berkshire cottage and later illustrated by Pyle.

Admission is $16 or with museum admission, $10 for members. Information:
