Students named Pickett Scholars

Miss Hall's School ann ounces that recent graduates Allaina Ray and Morgan Wagner have been named by the Lenox School Alumni Association as recipients of this year's Mansfield Pickett Scholarships.

The awards are named in memory of Mansfield E. "Pete" Pickett, who was a longtime teacher both at the former Lenox School and at Miss Hall's School.

The scholarships are given to two seniors who exhibit outstanding performance in academics and extracurricular activities. This is the ninth year the association has honored Miss Hall's students.

Ray, the daughter of Adriane Ray, of New York, N.Y., is a four-year senior at Miss Hall's, where she has been an Admission Ambass ador, a Big Sister, a Proctor, and a member of the varsity volleyball team. She will attend Carnegie Mellon University in the fall and pursue an interdisciplinary, pre-med track, with plans to become an ob/gyn.

Wagner, the daughter of Sandra Wagner, of Mon mouth Junction, N.J., is a two-year senior at MHS, where she has been an Admission Ambassador, a Proctor, a science tutor, and a member of the varsity basketball and cross-country teams.

She is also a member of Grace Notes, the school's a cappella singing group, and Mira's Alliance for Sust ainable Philanthropy, which practices local and global philanthropy. Wagner will attend Colgate University and is considering majoring in political science.

North Adams:

NBH is offering health care classes

Northern Berkshire Health care will offer classes for Cardio Pulmonary Resusc itation, First Aid, and Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers on Saturday, July 21, at North Adams Regional Hospital.

The class will focus on new American Heart Association guidelines on CPR, which highlight hands-only CPR.

The day will begin with a First Aid class from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. That will be followed by a CPR class that covers both beginners and renewals from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. From 1 to 3 p.m. is a class for anyone who needs a new or renewal Basic Life Support certification.

Stephentown, N.Y.:

Library Book Festival slated for Saturday

The Stephentown Mem orial Library's annual Summ er Book Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the library on Route 43 west of the traffic light. The rain date is Sunday.

Shoppers will find thousands of books for summer reading, including hard-covers, large print and paperbacks, as well as videos, audio-books, music and more.

The event also features food available for purchase, informational tables for local community groups, local vendors and artisans selling their wares, a reptile show at 11:30 a.m., and a petting zoo and pony rides from noon until 2 p.m.

Early buyers may begin their shopping at 8:30 a.m. for a $10 fee.
