In the Courts: Cases heard in Northern Berkshire and South Berkshire District Courts
In Southern Berkshire District Court on Monday:
Cori L. Kimple, 28, of Pleasant Street, Lee, admitted to sufficient facts for a plea of guilty to one count of driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with an incident on May 19. She was fined a total of $700, ordered to surrender her license for 45 days and complete an alcohol education program. A charge of driving an unregistered motor vehicle was filed and she was found not responsible for driving outside marked lanes.
In Northern Berkshire District Court on Tuesday:
Trista Bliss, 43, of Loftus Street, North Adams, had a charge of assault and battery on a person over 60 dismissed upon the request of the defendant.
n Miguel Rodriguez-Vazquez, 29, of Liberty Street, North Adams, had a charge of assault and battery on a person over 60 dismissed for a failure to prosecute.
Barry Sumner, 30, of South County Road, Florida, pleaded guilty to violating an abuse protection order and assault. Sumner was sentenced to 90 days in Berkshire County Jail and House of Correction.
Heather Shurtleff, 37, of Crotteau Street, Adams, admitted to sufficient facts on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise that was continued without a finding until Aug. 8, 2014. Shurtleff was fined $50.
In Northern Berkshire District Court on Wednesday:
Nicholas Bushey, 22, of Orchard Terrace, North Adams, had a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license dismissed upon the request of the commonwealth.
Narval Myers, 36, of Jefferson Avenue, Bennington, Vt., had a charge of indecent assault and battery on a person over 14 dismissed upon a failure to prosecute. The alleged victim did not appear in court Wednesday.
Samuel Whitlingum, 30, of West Street, Adams was found guilty of operating under the influence, placed on probation until June 10, 2015, and fined $600. Whitlingum was also found responsible for a marked lanes violation and fined $40.
Jesse Dakin, 22, of South State Street, North Adams, had charges of forgery of a document, forgery of a credit card, and larceny under $250 dropped by the District Attorney's office.
Noel Bostwick, 27, of Hall Street, North Adams, had a charge of assault and battery dismissed upon the request of the defendant.
