Incumbent selectman wins close contest in Lanesborough
LANESBOROUGH — Incumbent Selectman Robert Ericson of Scott Road won a second three-year term with a close, 25-vote victory over Michelle Johnson of Prospect Street.
Ericson, who is retired from General Dynamics, received 119 votes in the annual town election Tuesday to 94 for Johnson, a special education teacher in Lenox schools.
In the other contest on the Lanesborough ballot, newcomer Rebecca Flood, with 147 votes, and incumbent Ron Tinkham, with 108 votes, were elected to the two open Finance Committee seats, both for three years.
Committee Chairman Alfred Terranova finished third, with 97 votes, and was eliminated.
Town Clerk Ruth A. Knysh said other candidates elected without opposition on the ballot were Moderator Robert Reilly, 163 votes; Danielle Taylor, 159 votes for a three-year term on the School Committee; Reilly, 164 votes for a three-year term on the Northern Berkshire Regional School District Committee; Rachael Eramo, 173 votes for a three-year term as library trusete; Sherri Wilson, 171 votes for a one-year library trustee term; and Mary Reilly, 186 votes for a three-year term on the Cemetery Commission.
