Interstate 91 in Conn. reopened after ice problem
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -- Connecticut State Police say about a 10-mile stretch of Interstate 91 from just north of Hartford to the Massachusetts line has reopened after icy conditions and accidents prompted authorities to shut down both sides of the highway.
Troopers say the highway was closed for more than an hour Monday morning while crews spread more de-icing chemicals.
Snow and freezing rain fell in the region Monday morning, two days after a blizzard dropped up to three feet of snow in places. State and local crews continued to clear roads and improve driving sight lines Monday.
Icy conditions and accidents were reported on several other highways and roads across the state Monday and led to some closures.
