It's Warren who showed integrity

Sunday September 30, 2012

In his column of Sept. 30 ("Integrity really does matter"), William Lee says he has the right to claim his Native American heritage through his grandmother and father. He says that like he, Elizabeth Warren claims being Native American through her grandparent and was told this since she was a child. He then goes on to say that he has never checked the box for being Native American because he can’t prove his heritage.

It looks to me that he accuses Ms. Warren of being dishonest and lacking in character just because he does not have her courage in stating what she and her family believe -- that she shares Native American blood and is proud of it.

Vote for whomever you like, but attacking a person’s honesty and character for standing up for one’s past is not nice, and to me, not worthy of any candidate for any office.
