John Demos discusses ‘The Heathen School' at Bidwell Museum

TYRINGHAM -- Award-winning historian John Demos will discuss his just published book, "The Heathen School: A Story of Hope and Betrayal in the Age of the Early Republic" at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at Tyringham Union Church, Main Road, as part of the Bidwell Museum History Talk series.

The book tells the story of a unique missionary project in nearby Cornwall, Conn., and the America it embodied. Demos is the Samuel Knight Professor of American History Emeritus at Yale University and a Tyringham resident.
