Juvenile charged after allegedly striking another in face with shovel in Pittsfield
PITTSFIELD — A juvenile is facing assault and other charges after he allegedly struck another juvenile in the face with a shovel on Monday.
About 3:35 p.m., police responded to the area of Lincoln and Cherry streets, where a witness had reported a fight, according to a news release by Pittsfield Police.
Officers arriving found a single victim with a severe facial injury. He was transported to Berkshire Medical Center, where he was treated and has since been released.
After conducting an investigation, police arrested a juvenile male on charges of mayhem, possession of an electric stun gun, and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon (electric stun gun).
The alleged assailant was taken into custody without incident, and arraigned in Central Berkshire Juvenile Court on Tuesday.
