"Kunstler" gets an encore

Posted
PITTSFIELD — Barrington Stage Company is bringing back Jeffrey Sweet's "Kunstler," starring BSC veteran Jeff McCarthy, Sept. 13-24 at BSC's St. Germain Stage in the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center, 36 Linden St., where it had a 3 week run earlier this summer.

Performances will be Wednesday through Saturday evenings at 7:30, and matinees at 2 on Saturday and 3 on Sunday.

Directed by Meagan Fay, "Kunstler" features McCarthy — who is starring in Williamstown Theatre Festival's production of "A Legendary Romance" — as the self-described "radical lawyer" and civil rights activist, William Kunstler, and Erin Roch as a whip-smart law student. The colorful, perpetually rumpled defense lawyer whose best-known clients include the Chicago Seven, inmates involved in the Attica prison riots, and members of the American Indian Movement, makes a case for his often unconventional style in this play.

Ticket information is available by phone at 413-236-8888 or online at barringtonstageco.org.
