Laliberte Toy Fund

LEE — The Laliberte Toy Fund has surpassed its goal of $8,400 by $1,528 after receiving an additional $1,615 in donations recently. The toy fund celebrates its 50th anniversary serving youngsters in Lee, Lenox Dale and Tyringham.

Ed Laliberte, a longtime Lee police officer, began the toy fund in 1958; it was renamed in his honor following his death in the early 1980s.

Donations to the Laliberte Toy Fund can be mailed to P.O. Box 21, South Lee, MA 01260, or dropped off at the Lee Emergency Dispatch Center in the basement of Town Hall. Donations will be accepted through Jan. 1.
