Lanesborough: Equine therapy program to host presentation


Equus Therapeutic, a nonprofit therapeutic riding program for children and adults with special needs, will hold a presentation titled "Why Horses?" from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday, Feb. 16, at Wedgewood Stable/Wirtes Farm, 705 North Main St.

The speaker will be Beth Timlege, client services manager and founder/director of Medicine and Horsemanship at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, and cofounder and program director of Equine Partners, a therapeutic riding program in Hopkinton.

The presentation will consist of a slide show and discussion on the benefits of therapeutic riding and other equine-assisted therapies, followed by a demonstration.

The presentation will be geared toward current and potential program volunteers and is free and open to the public; donations will be accepted.
