Lanesborough: Equus Therapeutic receives grants for riding programs

Posted

Equus Therapeutic, a therapeutic horseback riding program hosted at Wedgewood Stable/Wirtes Farm, is the recipient of a $2,500 grant from the William J. and Margery S. Barrett Fund of the Berkshire-Taconic Foundation and a $4,591 grant from the Cultural Council of Northern Berkshire.

The grants will help fund a summer horsemanship and riding program for students in the Adams-Cheshire Regional School District summer program for children with special needs and spring and summer horsemanship programs for students from elementary schools in northern Berkshire County.

Four students from the Brayton School are currently participating in a weekly after-school horsemanship and riding program that will continue through May.

Volunteers for these programs and for ongoing lessons and special events are welcome. For information, visit www.equustherapeutic.org or call the program director at (413) 841-2709.
