Ledoux easily wins Select Board race in Becket

BECKET — Nicole Ledoux won the only contested race in Saturday's annual town election.

By a count of 202-52, Ledoux beat current Planning Board Chairman Robert T. Ronzio to succeed Angela HIlton who opted against seeking another three-year term.

Ledoux owns Ledoux Enterprises after taking it over from her father — a former Becket selectman — two years ago.

The candidates winning unopposed include Gale LaBelle, Board of Health for three years; Erving Krawet serving one year on the board; William Cavanaugh, Cemetery Commission, three years; Ronald Defoe and Daniel Parnell, each three years on the Finance Committee; Colleen O'Connor and Charles Andrews, each a five-year term on the Planning Board.

Town Clerk George Roberts reports that 255 of the town's 1.361 registered voters cast ballots, a 19 percent turnout at the polls.
