Lee: Actress to portray photojournalist in one-woman show

Actress and educator Sally Matson will present a one-woman show, "Margaret Bourke-White, Courageous Photographer," from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, at the Lee Library, 100 Main St.

Bourke-White is best known as the first female war correspondent, the first woman permitted to work in combat zones and the first accredited female photographer in World War II.

Matson will portray the photojournalist as she travels through Russia, England, Germany, India and more.

This event is a part of the library’s adult summer reading program, Literary Elements, and is made possible by partial funding from the Lee Cultural Council and the Lee Library.

The program is free and open to the public.
