Lee: Alzheimer workshops offered for caregivers

The Alzheimer’s Association is presenting a series of workshops on Essential Skills for Family Caregivers. The first workshop in this series will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10, at Lee Library, 100 Main St.

Additional workshops will follow on Thursdays, Jan. 17 and 24, at the same time and place.

Family and caregiver programs for people with Alzheimer’s disease are free and open to public.

The workshop series provides education and practical tools to those caring for someone with dementia.

Improved day-to-day living and overall quality of life for the person with dementia and the caregiver is the goal of this series which covers communication techniques, strategies to manage difficult behaviors, and safety in the home.
