Lee: Berkshire Short Film Festival seeks submissions
The first Berkshire Short Film Festival will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Spectrum Playhouse, 20 Franklin St.
The festival aims to showcase local and independent short films of all genres from up-and-coming filmmakers, students and animators.
Patrick Toole, a Lee native who attended film school at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and has produced and directed over 10 short films, initiated the idea of the Berkshire Shorts Film Festival.
The event is open to the public to celebrate a variety of work from both local and non-local artists. Anyone age 16 and up is encouraged to attend.
The festival format will include screenings and filmmakers will be asked to provide some background about their films and be available to answer audience questions.
Submissions must be under 20 minutes. Deadline for submissions is Oct. 1. Submission guidelines and more information can be found on berkshireshorts.weebly.com.
