Lee boys lacrosse beats Monument


GREAT BARRINGTON -- Emerson Wolski scored four goals and seven of his Lee teammates also scored as the Wildcats defeated Monument Mountain, 16-6.

Wolski's brother, Cav, contributed three goals and three assists while Adam Finnegan, Max Lenihan and Jake Parkinson all scored twice for Lee.

"We were coming off a tough loss to [Pittsfield], but we turned it around," said Lee coach Mike Snyder. "The kids really moved the ball around."

Snyder also praised goalie Cam Abderhalden, who stepped in for Cam Forest. Forest was injured in the loss to Pittsfield. Abderhalden had eight saves and Shane Legrant had five late in the game. Jack Vickery scored five of Lee's six goals.

Baseball: Mount Greylock 6, Mount Everett 1

SHEFFIELD -- Mount Greylock's Ian Brink and Adam Hall combined on a one-hitter to lead the Mounties to the shutout victory.

Brink, who also had two hits and two RBI, gave up the lone hit, walked one and struck out nine in five innings before Hall finished the job.

"He threw the ball well," said Mount Everett coach Jesse Carpenter. "We couldn't get anything going."

The Mounties blew the game open with a four-run fourth inning. Eric Hirsch had two RBI in the win.

Boys tennis: Monument Mountain 4, Mount Everett 1

SHEFFIELD -- The Spartans captured both the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles matches on the way to a victory over the Eagles.

Kevin Li defeated Jacob Malicky in a tightly contested two-set match, winning 6-3, 7-5 (4), while the doubles team of Jan Trousilek and Jack White topped Andrew Krom and Kosta Casivant 6-2, 7-5.

Mount Everett got its point when Jonas Malicky beat Cam Powell 6-3, 4-6, 12-10 (super tiebreaker).

SHEFFIELD -- With the exception of the one match it lost, the Spartans only lost a total five games in cruising past the Eagles.

No. 1 singles player Sam Sam White set the tone with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Ashlee Shaw. The Spartans' win came at No. 2 singles as Maya Neski topped Molly Amstead 6-7 (7), 6-2, 10-1.
