Lee High School names top seniors


LEE >> Emily P. Donovan and Cayce J. Williams have been named valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, of Lee Middle and High School's Class of 2016.

Commencement ceremonies will take place at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at the Koussevitzky Music Shed at Tanglewood in Lenox.

Donovan is the daughter of Buck Donovan and Rebecca Donovan of Lee. She was a member of the Drama Club, lacrosse, Helping Hands, Mock Trial, Gay-Straight Alliance, and Quiz Team.

She was the recipient of the Rensselaer Medal and the Smith College Book Award.

Donovan will be attending the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in the fall to study education.

Williams is the daughter of Keith and Sandra Williams of Lee. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Drama Club, Mock Trial and Quiz teams.

She was an active volunteer working with the Special Olympics events, and also helping at the Lee Library.

Williams is the recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizens Award, the Bausch and Lomb Science Award and the Williams College Book Award.

She plans to attend Westfield State University next fall to major in special education.
