Lee: Household hazardous waste collection scheduled

The South Berkshire Household Hazardous Waste Collaborative will hold a collection for its 15 member towns from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 19, at the Lee Waste Water Treatment Facility, 379 Pleasant St. The event will be coordinated by the Center for EcoTechnology.

Participating towns include Alford, Becket, Egremont, Great Barrington, Lee, Lenox, Monterey, Mount Washington, New Marlborough, Otis, Richmond, Sheffield, Stockbridge, Tyringham, and West Stockbridge.

Registration is required. The cost for this collection is paid by the towns. However, the hazardous waste vendor, Clean Ventures, charges a minimum fee per participant; consolidate with friends and neighbors and bring a minimum of 10 gallons/pounds or 25 gallons/pounds.
