Lee man uninjured in accident caused by texting

LEE - A Lee man escaped injury Sunday morning after crashing his pick up into a utility pole while texting, according to local authorities.

Lee police say Corey Wilcox, 26, was traveling east on Housatonic Street around 5:30 a.m. when he swerved off the road slamming his Toyota Tacoma head-on into a pole near the Sunset Motel. Wilcox was not hurt, but police cited him for texting while driving.

The truck had extensive front end damage and Verizon had to replace the pole which remained upright following the crash.
