Lee police: Construction bolts thrown at Main Street restaurant's window

LEE -- Local police are looking for those who vandalized a downtown restaurant overnight Wednesday.

As the owners of Panda Garden arrived around 8,30 a.m. Thursday to open for the day, they discovered two holes in the storefront window of the Main Street eatery across from Lee Library. Police say a pair of two-inch construction bolts were thrown through the window -- without shattering the glass. A third bolt was found in front of the restaurant.

Panda Garden conducted business as usual on Thursday as the holes and extending cracks in the window were sealed up with black duct tape.

Police believe the vandalism was a random act, but the incident remains under investigation.

Investigating officers plan to review surveillance video from cameras of neighboring businesses to see if the vandalism was caught on tape.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Lee Police Department at (413) 243-5530.
