Lee police seize 2 1/2 pounds of marijuana in search of apartments

LEE -- More than two pounds of marijuana, as well as drug paraphenalia, have been seized from a pair of apartments on Franklin Street, according to authorities.

Two search warrants were executed in two apartments at 19 Franklin St. in Lee, according to Officer Ryan Lucy.

Investigators on Thursday seized 2 1/2 pounds of marijuana, along with money and drug paraphenalia associated with distribution, at the scene, Lucy said.

Charges are pending against two people and include possession of a class D substance with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substances Act, Lucy said.

Lucy said authorities acted on a tip by the U.S. Postal Service regarding the two men delivering a package that was believed to contain a large amount of marijuana, which coupled with an ongoing investigation, resulting in the two search warrants.
