Lee rallies to beat Wahconah, stay perfect in lacrosse

LEE -- With five minutes left to play in the second half, the Lee girls lacrosse team was trailing Wahconah Regional and facing its first loss of 2013.

Liz Kastrinakis tied the game with 4:20 left and then with a minute to play, Lydia Graham scored her sixth goal to give the Wildcats (10-0) a 10-9 win over the Warriors on Tuesday afternoon.

"Wahconah played exellent. We were extremely fortunate to come out with a win," said Lee coach Dave Galisa. "They realize what they have to do now and how they have to play."

Paige Chiaretta had a hat trick for Wahconah.

Goalies -- Wahconah: Mikayla Weigel 16 saves. Lee: Liz Consolati 8 saves.

Mount Greylock 13, Pittsfield 8

PITTSFIELD -- Lucy Barrett scored four goals and an assist to lead the Mounties in their win.

"It was back-and-forth in the first half, but in the second half, they just went off and we couldn’t catch them," said Pittsfield coach Jenna Giardina.

Tori Symanski led Pittsfield with four goals.

Greylock 15, Everett 4

SHEFFIELD -- Playing their fourth game in five days was a recipe for disaster for the Eagles against Greylock.

"In terms of pitching, we just didn’t have much left," said Everett coach Jesse Carpenter.

Sean Houston had a pair of triples for Greylock, while Ed Dufur added two doubles and two RBI. Sage Angell doubled for the Eagles.
