Lee woman, 68, dies after being struck by car
LEE >> A 68-year-old Lee woman has died after being struck by a car while in a crosswalk near the intersection of West Park and Marble streets.
According to Lee Police Chief Jeffrey Roosa, the person driving the vehicle was a 33-year-old Lee man.
Police were not releasing the identities of either party Friday afternoon.
According to Roosa, the woman was struck about 6:58 a.m. and Lee Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded.
The woman was walking northbound in the crosswalk from Marble to West Park when she was struck.
She was taken to Berkshire Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead, said Roosa.
The accident is being investigated by the Lee Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Team.
