Leicester woman charged in Worcester fatal hit-and-run

WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) -- Police have charged a Leicester woman in connection with a hit-and-run in Worcester earlier this month that took the life of an 83-year-old man.

Elizabeth Marc-Aurele is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday on charges of leaving the scene of an accident involving personal injury and death, failure to file an accident report, failing to slow for a pedestrian, and motor vehicle homicide.

Police tell The Telegram & Gazette the 24-year-old woman came to police headquarters on Tuesday morning with her lawyer.

Investigators had been searching for the driver that hit Albert Sescilla in the early morning hours of April 12 as he walked across the street. He lived in a nearby rest home.

Police say the driver of a dark minivan left the scene without stopping.
