Lenox: Berkshire Lyric to hold annual concert/fundraiser

Posted

Berkshire Lyric will present "Kick The Winter Blues, A Musical Afternoon with Oscar" at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 23, at Duffin Theatre of Lenox Memorial High School.

This annual pop concert and fundraiser features academy award-winning songs to be sung by all three Berkshire Lyric choruses: the 90 voice Berkshire Lyric Chorus; The Berkshire Singers; and the 30 voice Blafield Children’s Chorus.

Berkshire Lyric Artistic Director Jack Brown will be conducting this program accompanied by pianist Joe Rose. Baritone John Demler will be the featured soloist. The songs range over eight decades and include "It Might as Well be Spring," "Moon River," and several songs made popular in Disney movies such as "Under the Sea" and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight."

A reception will follow the concert. The silent auction and raffle will support the year round educational efforts of Berkshire Lyric including three choruses for young people, the annual Young Singer’s Competition, the Summer Blafield Chorus Choral Camps, and the Choral Scholars Program.

Tickets may be purchased in advance from chorus members or online at www.BerkshireLyricInfo.org. Children are admitted for free.
